Orascom inaugurated the marina town of Chbika, in the southern part of Morocco, on the Atlantic Ocean some 300 km from Agadir and covering a total area of 15 million sqm. The integrated and self-sufficient tourist destination will be developed by Oued Chbika Development, a subsidiary of Orascom Development in collaboration with CDG. Orascom Development will retain a majority stake of 65%. The 1st phase covers a total area of 5 million sqm, comprising 8 hotels and 1,851 apartments and villas.
